September monthly expense report finally getting updated. It was a fun filled month, but also lots of hard work around the house. A big debt payoff took place and now the mortgage is in the cross-hairs. Let’s keep rolling!
This is going to be a short one as I try to wrap up my 2017 reports. Work and life has kept me busy for the past months, so September, October, November, and December are all overdue. Going to be on point and out the door.
First up as always, the numbers before diving into the Net Worth update. Like every month, this is only my spending and no one else in the household. The current target is at or under $2050 per month.
Monthly Expense Report
|Housing||$1500||Sending $500 extra towards my Princi-pal monthly. Always feels good. 🙂|
|Home||$260||Yard work galore! Dirt, dirt, dirt!|
|Foods||$250||Oof! Eating out too much!|
|Auto||$120||A few extra road trips this month.|
|Internet||$50||Basic human right.|
|Total||$2430||I’ll take it.|
Home – $260
I spent a lot of time this month doing yard work. Mostly trying to get our lawn to be a bit denser, more friendly to the feet. I can’t remember now how many yards of dirt/compost I had delivered, but it was many hours of shoveling and raking. All for grass – I would love to make our gardens bigger. Winter project will be a landscape new landscape design.
Now I just need to stay on top of the watering so hopefully the new seed will take. (Probably going to do a smaller area next year – so I can focus and achieve better results.)
Debt – $135
FINAL PAYMENT! No more debt besides the mortgage! Next stop mortgage free household!!!
After 7 years paying off a 0% interest loan (so while accelerate payoff?) we are finally in the clear. Can’t wait to get that account closure letter in the mail! Pin that one next to my student loan payoff!
Entertainment – $70
September is a big birthday month for my friends and family – so it’s always a little spendier in the fun category. We took an amazing day trip to Providence, RI to celebrate one birthday. I have never been, but walking around the Brown campus and visiting some of the amazing restaurants and shops was worth the journey. Plus there was a vegan ice cream parlor!!!
Net Worth Update
No way I can complain with the progress. Up something like 65% for the year-to-date and approaching 10% above my target. Economy feels pretty strong, but you never know. I’m enjoying the upward ride, but preparing myself mentally for any setbacks. Many years ahead of me!
*House equity – despite the increased mortgage principal payment is and never has been part of my net worth calculation.
Go and enjoy it!
